Do we have access to UpToDate at UHN?
I would like to continue using UpToDate but no longer have access through my university's library. Is there a way to get access through UHN?
Answer
Unfortunately UpToDate subscriptions for institutions and libraries are very expensive. UHN Libraries does not now have a subscription, and it is unlikely that this resource will be added to our collections in the future.
UHN staff and students may have access through their other affiliations - hospitals, academic institutions, professional associations - and we would encourage you to inquire with those organizations what benefits and resources you have available to you.
Toronto Metropolitan University
Toronto Metropolitan University students, faculty and staff can access UpToDate through their subscription. You can find access information on the TMU Library site, the TMU Library staff will be happy to help you navigate accessing this resource.
University of Toronto
Some of those affiliated with University of Toronto can access UpToDate through their subscription. You can find access information for UpToDate on the U of T Library site, the U of T Library staff will be happy to help you navigate accessing this resource.

- Clinical Tools on UHNLibraries.ca has a selection of clinical resources for anyone at UHN
- Gerstein library has clinical tools listed on their website that those affiliated with U of T may be able to access (scroll down, look under Clinical Tools)
- Toronto Metropolitan University library has clinical tools available to their students
